From July 25 to August 4, the Strelka Institute will host the first film festival to present the premieres of ten new films by independent directors from around the world. The organizers of the festival told Life around this.
Pictures for the program were selected by the project’s curator, film critic Stas Tyrkin, who is a member of the selection committee of the Moscow International Film Festival and is involved in film directing at the Gogol Center.
The festival will feature "Neon Demon" by Danes Nicholas Winding Rhine (Cannes Film Festival, 2016), "Little Men" by Ira Sachs (Sundance-2016, Berlin-2016), "Paradise" by Sina Atayana Dena (Locarno-2015), "Tokyo Gangs" Ziona Sono (Toronto 2014). Also in the program is a painting by Pedro Almodovar "Juliet", first presented in 2016 in Cannes. You can also see the work of Russian directors: “City Birds” by Yulia Belaya (National Debut Festival “Movement”) and “Petersburg. Love Only” by Renata Litvinova (Kinotavr-2016), filmed with Avdotya Smirnova, Anna Parmas, Aksinya Gog and Oksana Bychkova.
