22 pairs of men's shoes for the winter

Looking for high-quality shoes, clothes and accessories is not necessary only among luxury brands. Often the ideal thing in terms of price and quality can be found in the mass market or in the middle price segment.

Every week we talk about one seasonal item in different price categories. In the new issue - laced boots, brogues, derby and hikers, which are suitable for changeable winter weather.

Lace-up boots

Lace-up boots are a universal option for the cold season (however, nothing prevents wearing them in spring or early autumn). So if quality is more important for you than quantity, it’s worth investing in a leather pair just above the ankle. In addition to the expensive, but time-tested brands like Diemme and Fracap for the winter season, cute shoes with laces appear at Vans, Lacoste, Asos and the entire mass market. Those who find it even harder to part with sneakers and go for something more serious in the cold will enjoy the sporty look of The North Face made of nylon and suede with water-repellent impregnation.

Hikers

Designed for walking in the mountains, hikers are quite appropriate in the city. They are distinguished from classic lace-up boots by a more thoughtful design: a rigid fixation of the legs, an inner layer of fur or wool for extra warmth and a thick corrugated sole (the only salvation in ice). In other words, if, in addition to running from work to the metro or taxi this winter, you plan to walk in the park or sorties out of town, a couple of hikers will definitely come in handy. Leather models with insulation, which can traditionally be found in Fracap, Timberland and Diemme, are best left for subzero temperatures, but rubber Native are not afraid of either puddles mixed with snow or rain.

Fracap 16 500 rubles

Timberland, 11 000 rubles

Native 6 000 rubles

Chelsea

We already remembered the chelsea in the review of autumn shoes, so we just repeat: any thick leather shoes that cover the ankle are ideal for slush, which inevitably covers Moscow streets with an even layer from October to April. It is better to choose a chelsea made of genuine leather, rather than a leatherette, which practically does not keep warm, and half the size more than usual: then the pair can be worn in winter with a warm insole and thick socks. Another bad weather idea is the Swims Norwegian Chelsea in woven, waterproof and water-repellent material.

Derby and Oxfords

Derby, brogues and oxfords are not the most obvious choice for winter. On the other hand, if the boots are equipped with a thick sole and made of thick leather, and outside there is a confident plus or zero degrees (which is not uncommon for Moscow winter), then why not. When buying a classic pair, first check the top of the boot and the sole. It’s best if the material is natural (leave eco-leather for dry and warm autumn), and the sole is rubber and corrugated (then the ice is not so bad). Unlike hikers and coarse lace-up boots, with proper care and regular cleaning you can wear these shoes all year round.

The people against happiness: What happens if you open a sex shop near your home

In early March, near the Ryazansky Prospekt metro station, a new sex shop, the Provider of Happiness, appeared. This is a family business of Oksana and Dmitry Korobitsyn, who opened a store in their area, next to the house. On the same day, the government website received a complaint about a “dirty store with a damn sign on it” urging the sex shop to close, guided by “caring for moral health and saving children” and “intelligible ideas about good and evil”.

Allergy is the production of antibodies for certain types of proteins, a very common ailment. Sometimes an allergy is exacerbated by a malfunction of the immune system, in which it begins to attack different substances with an allergen-like protein structure. This is called a cross reaction.
